Project overview:
This internship in the Information Security Division/University Information Policy Office will assist with the development and maintenance of communication products used by the Incident Response and Security Engineering Teams. This internship would expose the student to Information Security practices, including incident response, vulnerability management, and security awareness and training initiatives. Additionally, the student would be afforded the opportunity to learn about and discuss information security issues and technologies and their application in an enterprise environment outside the classroom. This internship would be appropriate for students with interests in technical writing, information security, information policy, data administration, or privacy.
Description of duties:
- Work with the Incident Response and Security Engineering teams to create, revise, and maintain communications products, including frequently used message templates, tutorials, web pages, and Knowledge Base articles
- Ensure communications are appropriately targeted to the intended audiences, communicated clearly, and are easy to understand
- Make recommendations for long-term management of communications products
Qualifications:
- Excellent writing ability; technical writing experience preferred
- Exposure to Information Security best practices preferred
