Project overview:
This internship in the UITS Research Technologies will assist with the development efforts of the National Center for Genome Analysis Support (NCGAS). This internship would provide training for the student on cloud computing application development, virtual machine development, and web interface development. In addition, the student would be afforded the opportunity to develop their communication skills and work with a diverse group of stakeholders. This internship would be appropriate for students with an interest in HTML, Unix, and cloud computing application development.
Description of duties:
- Work with NCGAS staff to develop applications that serve the biological research community at IU as well as the nation
- Ensure the design is user friendly, engaging, and stable
- Have exposure to modern web development techniques and database design
Qualifications:
- Excellent understanding of web design and database design best practices preferred
- Exposure to Unix and command line programming is helpful
